Lately I've been thinking about my health and the problems I have and I'm trying to gear myself into good habits instead of bad ones, and I'm trying to think first before reaching for a cookie, or whatever. I've purchased "Sweatin' to the Oldies" with Richard Simmons. I really like the oldies and RS is always so upbeat that I'll have an easier time of excercising. I had, at one time, the VHS version of his excercise program but needed to buy the DVDs. It was a little difficult to find the DVDs but I ended up getting a 5-disc set from Amazon.com. I'm excited to start my program. And I figure once I'm doing that I won't want to "waste" the calories I'm burning so I'll eat better! I just have to stop and think before grabbing something easy and calorie-laden, and/or sugar-laden.
I'm actually keeping myself busier and in fact, the list of to-dos is long! Feeling better will rev up my energy meter, too, and make it easier to accomplish things.
On my mind:
- hoping Zach is doing well after his surgery on Friday
- looking forward to seeing my sisters and brothers as well as our children and grandchildren at Edie's birthday party next Saturday
- I need more hangers! Is there a closet monster who eats hangers? Or do they run off with mismatched socks?
- I got the DVD player I ordered to use in my craft room to watch movies while I am working. I had to put my ear next to the thing to hear it when it was cranked all the way up. What ever happened to manufacturers testing their product before sending it out from the factory? It is a good brand, Sylvania. I got a 10.5 inch screen that swivels and I think if they could trade me for a machne that I can hear I will be pleased with it. Hopefully.
- I need to set up the "old" computer downstairs somewhere so I can work on my book. Actually, I have three or four books started so I need to work on all of them. I could work upstairs on the computer in the office but the room is above our bedroom and Hubby goes to bed early. With these hardwood floors you can hear every footstep and the chair rolling back and forth downstairs.
